Ceide
Visitor Centre:
Located near Ballycastle, this site uncovers the oldest
enclosed farms in the world dating back 5000 years. A major
interpretative centre is located close to spectacular cliff
views. The centre also includes a coffee shop adn viewing

The
Round Tower at Killala:
This well preserved tower, built about 1000 years ago, is
25 metres high and the lowest enterance is 3.3 metres above
the ground. Some say that the souterrain in the grounds
of the church across the road leads into it. |  |

Moyne
Abbey
Moyne Abbey is one of the many fine abbeys in Mayo. Boasting
a well peserved cloister and tower, this quiet retreat is
set on the banks of The Moy estuary. There is also an exceptional
ruined Franciscan Abbey nearby at Rosserk. An Augustinian
Abbey at Ballina and the Dominican Abbey at Rathfran are
notable. |
